Winter is a magical time at White Pines Ranch. The scenery is breathtaking when snow covers the pine trees and all of the pastures are covered in a blanket of white! The canyon is transformed into a winter wonderland with huge icicles cascading down the sandstone sides. Weekends in December, January and February are pretty much like any other weekend at the ranch with a few changes…

Plan on your group arriving at 9:00 am on Saturday. Upon your arrival one of our staff members will meet you at your car and direct the leader to the office and the rest of your group to their dorm. After you have checked in with the office and picked your bunks, it's off to an orientation meeting. Gig, Sue or Andee will greet your group and talk about scheduling, ranch rules, meal procedures and answer any and all questions. After the orientation meeting it's time to mosey down to the barn for a horsemanship class taught by one of our experienced barn crew.

CROSS COUNTRY SKIING WILL KEEP YOU WARM!

CROSS COUNTRY SKIING WILL KEEP YOU WARM!

At 11:00 we'll start activities! Daytime activities include horseback riding, sledding, cross-country skiing, hiking, crafts, wilderness survival, initiative tasks, horse grooming, orienteering, mapping and horse saddling…whew…that's a lot to do! Saturday night you'll enjoy country line dancing, a hayride, bingo and a campfire sing-a-long before heading to your bunks at 9:30. After breakfast on Sunday, we offer activities until 2:00 and then it's time to head home.   Hungry? Our fantastic kitchen crew will prepare scrumptious home-cooked meals for you to enjoy. Meals include Saturday dinner (noon meal), supper (evening meal) and a bedtime snack. On Sunday we'll prepare a hearty breakfast and dinner. Of course, during the winter months, we keep the hot chocolate flowing, the fire stoked and the coffee ready to go. SEE YOU NEXT WINTER!
